The Magnificent Others is a four piece collective formed in the late winter of 2008. Playing the last set every Tuesday night at East Nashville’s infamous musician’s hang The Family Wash, the band quickly acquired a loyal late night following and a certain amount of notoriety as Nashville’s only all Boston band (a fact which probably explains their bad attitude). Equal parts Highway 61 Revisited, Frank’s Wild Years, Weld, and Shoot Out the Lights, The Magnificent Others have happily set about the task of tearing Americana a new asshole.
For your dining and dancing pleasure, Ladies and Gentlemen, The Magnificent Others:
James Rubin = Lyrics, Vocals, Guitar
Reeves Gabrels [David Bowie, Paul Rodgers, The Cure] = Guitar, Backing Vocals
Marco Giovino [Robert Plant, Patty Griffin, Norah Jones] = Drums & Things That Rattle
Frank Swart [Patty Griffin, Norah Jones, Buddy Miller] = Upright & Electric Basses
Patty Griffin = Backing Vocals
Their debut album was recorded live as it went down at East Nashville’s Toy Box Studio and will be available Fall 2011.
